Rippers Academy

This fall at The HUB, the Rippers are bringing players a one-of-a-kind training experience that builds both on-field skills and lacrosse IQ. Come ready to train, learn, and leave a more complete player. Players ages 8–18 will get the chance to develop skills, speed, and game IQ, while also learning how to take care of their body, prepare for higher levels of play, and navigate the recruiting journey.

Designed by lacrosse legend Brian Silcott, this is more than just practice — it’s the full package.

Space is limited. Players will be split time divisions for the sessions with age appropriate instruction.

Every great player starts with a solid foundation in their position, and then takes it to the next level with reps, confidence, and speed. The Rippers Academy offers 1-hour positional training sessions focused exclusively on your position: Attack, Midfield, Defense, Goalie, or Faceoff.

  • Led by Rippers Coaching Staff with special guest coaches throughout the season.

  • Sessions designed by Brian Silcott to blend teaching and execution.

  • Slow it down: Learn new skills and refine technique at a teaching pace, ensuring

  • players understand the how and why.

  • Speed it up: High-tempo drills and reps to translate skills into game-speed execution.

Why It Matters:

These sessions give players the position-specific instruction they often miss in team practices. Whether it’s attack footwork, dodging angles, defensive positioning, goalie reads, or faceoff technique — players will build the skills, confidence, and IQ to make an impact.

Position-specific:

Attack

Develop elite scoring skills; shooting, finishing, and feeding. Learn to attack from X, create separation, and become a consistent offensive threat.

Midfield

Sharpen dodging, shooting on the run, and two-way play. Build the footwork and stick skills to dominate between the boxes and impact both ends of the field.

Defense

Master positioning, footwork, and stick checks. Learn to shut down dodgers, play as a unit, and turn defense into offense.

Goalies

Improve stance, reaction time, and clearing ability. Build confidence in the cage with reps designed to sharpen technique and prepare for game pressure.

Faceoff

Dial in faceoff mechanics, counters, and wing play. Get high-rep instruction to win possessions and control the pace of the game.
